Happy weekend, friends! When your kids ask for pancakes for breakfast you don’t deny them. You make them and then reward yourself with a couple, or five. • Healthy Steak Salad

Making this salad was the highlight of my Sunday afternoon. It takes little time and you can prep some of the items way ahead of time. I cooked the beets earlier in the day and refrigerated them until I was ready to plate the salad. I also cooked the marinade and got that set in the fridge with the steak early on in the day. When it came to dinner time, my husband grilled the steak while I build the rest of the salad. It’s all about team work, folks. It makes things so much easier. Give this a try. You will love it. It’s clean. healthy and delicious!!

Oh how i love dumplings… These are another Eastern European staple and I remember making these often when I was a kid. So delicious and comforting! In Hungarian, these are called Gombóc. The dough is essentially the same as the dough for gnocchi. It is very versatile and can be sweet and savory. As with every post, I encourage you to get creative and use the basics from this recipe and make it your own. It is so much fun! I’m committed to using seasonal ingredients so you will definitely see these dumplings again this fall; paired with some fall staples. Apples, pumpkins, chestnut? My wheels are spinning….. • Turmeric+Ginger Pancakes

Over the weekend, I made a batch of pancakes as per the request of my boys. I make my pancakes from scratch and they love them. The recipe below, makes a batch of about 10-15 pancakes. I tend to freeze about half each time and they re-heat in a toaster or microwave really well. I decided to play around and added the power spices, turmeric and ginger, to a batch for myself. No, my kids did not eat these! They prefer them plain dipped in honey or syrup, of course. I also sliced up some sweet peaches for a few of them as well as blueberries. I finished them off…

  • Mango+Peach+Mint Sorbet

This summer treat is the easiest to make and it is so delicious. You can even make it a boozy treat if you wish, for all the adults (21+) at your party. I added a little Elderflower liquor like St-Germain to the mix, but I suspect that it would be delicious with Rum, Tequila and even Vodka.
